This is the driver's side of the boiler with the regulator and whistle on the right of the photo, the pressure gauge in the centre of the photo and the safety valves on the left.

De Winton of Caernarfon built a number of these vertical boilered quarry engines. In this case the cylinders are bolted to the boiler. Notice the connecting rod and slide bars nearest the camera.

In this view we are looking down towards the crank axle with the eccentrics for both cylinders in the middle of the photo and the coupling rod for the nearest cylinder linked to the crank axle.
