Close up of the machinery mainly concerned with the winding drum. Notice that the big end bearing on the crank for the winding drum has left the scene!

Close up of the engine and drive for the railway wheels. The small cylinder is geared down to the shaft driving the bevel gears. A shaft from the large horizontal bevel gear wheel takes the drive vertically down to shafting to connect to the railway wheels.

Down below, the vertical down to shaft drives another bevel gear set to take the drive to a fore and aft shaft to take the drive to the railway wheels.

Final drive to one of the axles involves yet another bevel gear set. The noise of all these exposed straight cut gears when in operation must have been really something!

The maker's plate on the frame below the fixed gear for slewing sadly has lost the vital maker's number. Where and when it fell off, we shall probably never know.

Apart from the drive to the axles there were, of course other steam cylinders for all the machine's functions.
