The rods and driving wheels of this fine example of North British Locomotive Company's products. The company no longer exists and the works has closed and gone. A pity that such skill and experience is lost for ever.

The trailing driving axle with the air reservoir tucked in below the running plate and the boiler blow down next to the wheel. Although a British built loco it has bar frames, unlike the plate frames of the usual British practice.
