What a survivor! One of the very few locos that still exist that were built for the 7 foot gauge, and what a strange location to find one, in the Azores islands. The great width of the loco can be seen by the distance between the cylinders and their vertically mounted slide valves - a typically British arrangement.

The Falcon Works builder's plate. It's strange to think that the works still exists as Wabtec, formerly Brush Electrical Machines, who built many diesel and electric locos including the Channel Tunnel tri-Bo shuttle locos.

Rear view of the loco which gives little away as to the sheer size of a 7 foot gauge loco.

In the cab of No. 3. The Victorian layout of the dome and safety valves in the cab is evident.
