The boiler that will be used in the new build 'Brighton Atlantic' is similar to the boiler of the original 'Beachy Head', but in fact is from a Great Northern Railway Atlantic like No.251, currently displayed at Doncaster.

As construction continued, the frames, complete with buffers, splashers, cylinders and cab sides havd taken shape. Notice the patterns for wheels displayed on the walls.

A sight that no one had seen since April 1958 but available once more in August 2024 as the new build Brighton Atlantic 32424 'Beachy Head' hauls a service train on the Bluebell Railway. A magnificent effort to bring back to life another lost type of British locomotive.
