60008 crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 2012 to re-visit the UK for a unique event which brought together all six survivors of the A4 class locomotives for an exhibition at York. Here is the loco on arrival at Locomotion, Shildon in October 2012. It was subsequently cosmetically restored for the later exhibition

60008's nameplate, which honours Eisenhower in his role during the Second World War in Europe. The loco was previously named 'Golden Shuttle' as LNER No 4469. This name reflected the Yorkshire woollen industry, an area served by the LNER.
