Beamish, The Living Museum of the North
Beamish is a world famous open air museum which brings the history of North East England to life at its 1820s Pockerley, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town and 1950s Spain’s Field Farm exhibit areas.

Tanfield Railway
The Tanfield Railway is a standard gauge heritage railway in Gateshead and County Durham, Northeast England. Running on part of a former colliery wooden wagonway, later a steam railway, it operates preserved industrial diesel and steam locomotives. The railway operates a passenger service on Sundays all year round, as well as demonstration freight trains. The railway claims to be "the worlds oldest railway".
