18" Gauge 2-6-0 Added to the Website

An 18" gauge 2-6-0 originally constructed by Oscar Coffman in 1949 had been in the hands of the Meadows & Lake Kathleen RR in Deadwood, Oregon until sometime in the early 2000's. It was acquired by Michael Barth of Black Forest, Colorado, and brought to our attention by Wes Barris, the webm...

H.K. Porter 0-4-0CA from the Pate Museum

H.K. Porter 0-4-0CA No. 57, a compressed air locomotive was owned and displayed by the Pate Museum in Forth Worth, Texas. The museum closed in 2009 and its contents were auctioned in 2010. Gas/Mechanical Amusement Park Rides

Just recently, someone complained rather enthusiastically that we had omitted a steam locomotive from our database that appears on steamlocomotive.com's website, and demanded to know why. This is the locomotive in question: http://www.steamlocomotive.com/lists/searchdb.php?str=stolley&country=US...

Content Updates

A fair bit of research continues on the content of our website. Locomotives move, get scrapped, changed status and so forth. You can see some, but not all of the changes we make to the website by clicking on the What's New button on the home page. I wanted to point out some of the data updates takin...

Denmark Steam Locomotive

Faxe Jernbane 0-6-2T No. I was once located at the Blovstrod Banen in Denmark. It is not now listed on their website, nor can I find any web or news articles that indicate where it might have ended up. This is a link to our page for this locomotive. If anyone can help with its current whereabouts, I...

Re: Maps and steamlocomotive.info

Worked most of the day today on two things:

  • Creating a page to collect and report (automatically) mapping errors.
  • Improve the display and user interface for maps

The picture was taken in West Bengal, India, by his grandfather who worked there in the early 1940s. He believes the picture may have been taken at the Hirapor Coke Works. Can anyone provide further information about this locomotive?

It has been a bit more than five years since I paid any real attention to this website's statistics, how many visitors, how many page views, how do people find us and so forth. Now that I'm retired, I've decided to do some massive updating, enhancing and modifying of http://www.steamlocomotive.info....
