This locomotive was built for “Rete Adriatica” (Adriatica Railway) as their No. 1900 in Class 180, one of the three private companies forming the FS in 1905. Thirteen from a total of 36 built of this type, managed to survive in service until after WW2. Many locomotives now preserved in Milano were first displayed in the original museum at Roma Termini.
