I saw 040TC90 dumped on the shed at Nevers at Easter 1969. It certainly hadn’t arrived at Chalons-sur-Saone when I visited that shed later the same year.

So scrapped in 1972.

I have looked at the PRW book and can only surmise it was scheduled for preservation but was never actually saved.

Brian, please refer to p.p. 205 of P R-W’s book where it is described, I don’t know if still extant.

This locomotive was one of 95 re-constructed for the PLM in the years 1927-1940 from various parts of older locomotives, that became No. DM 90 of that railway.
