Longview, Portland, and Northern predecessor was Willamina and Grand Ronde, after two towns the line ran through in Western Oregon.

As of 6/25/08 she can run, but she is not out on the normal trains yet... as far as I know.

Update: according to a source at www.rypn.org, #29 should be back up and running by early to mid July. See "Virginia & Truckee Steam" in the Interchange for details.

At last report, No. 29 was out of service undergoing extensive crown sheet repairs. All V&T tourist excursions are being pulled by diesel at the moment.
