donations for 2353s return to service are being accepted. The process includes replacing all parts of the firebox. Will be costlier than a new boiler though.

This steam engine was pulled from service for a Federal Inspection, which Revealed a number of Hairline Cracks along the side of the boiler. Still was a working locomotive, and held its pressure, but the Cracks cuase a potential hazard and was summond to not run again till repairs where made.

The locomotive has been put back together to serve as a display in Campo. Eventual plans, when funds allow, might see the locomotive getting the boiler work it needs to get it running again, though for now it should probably be "Display". It's more than just a Form 4.

Operated from 1995 to 2001 on the SD&A by the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum.  A new inspection for the new fed regs discovered problems in the firebox.  Currently awaiting funding for the repair work - estimated to be at least $250,000.
