The preserved locomotive was one of six built specifically for SJ construction work, based in Stockholm and eventually became Class A, thence, in 1900, Class Qä.

Another example of Beyer Peacock's designs for export. Thoroughly British in appearance, it could only be one of theirs with that backward sloping smokebox front!
