The locomotive was built for the Fryksta Klara Alv Railway (FKAJ), operated with horses until it’s 1849 arrival. In 1872 the railway was converted to Standard 1,435mm gauge and the engine sent to the naval base at Karlskrona. Via Karlsborg, from 1880, it went to the Swedish Railway Museum in 1906.

The unusual arrangement of the motion with the connecting rod sitting inboard of the coupling rods, and an extra-long outside crank on the front axle to clear the cylinder
