NSWGR 2605 1966 was purchased in 1966 by Blue Circle Southern Cement Company for use at their Portland cement works, working until 1983. It moved to a compound on State Mine branch 20 miles away in Lithgow and became an exhibit at the State Mine Museum when it opened.

A dedicated rail group has taken over the running of the railway branch. 2605 is housed in their shed and workshop building along with a selection of industrial diesels. They run a diesel railcar on various dates along their branch line with hopes of extending their railway.

Under 2605 builders plate is a NSWGR type shed plate. A number 23 shed plate should read LITHGOW, the real shed being 3 miles away, Eskbank being the suburb where the museum is located.
