NSWGR 128 One of 3 locos from Vulcan Foundry for NSWGR. All three worked on Richmond to Camden line, Sydney. In 1897 No 128 was renumbered to 530 and in 1901 moved to Yass Tramway, working there until 1910. In 1915 it was sold after working over 400,000 miles in NSWGR ownership. It was bought by the Commonwealth Government for work at Jervis Bay. In 1932 it was sold again, purchased by Cessnock Colliery. Laid up by 1938. Later the boiler and saddle tank were scrapped. Later still motion parts were removed, these may still exist. In 1983 the remains were moved to Richmond Vale Railway Museum.

In 1992 moved to Yass Railway Museum. The boiler from class mate 129 was found. Having been used at a sawmill. This was obtained and mounted on 128.

The Yass Tramway was a 3 mile branch line. The mainline railway by passed the town of Yass so a line was built from the mainline station Yass Junction to Yass Town. Opening in 1892 the branch line had two platformed stations and 7 halts where passengers could board or leave the train, hence called a Tramway. In its time it was a very busy branch line, NSWGR locos operated the line. The branch no longer exists, only Yass Town station which is the railway museum. The Museum is open on Sundays.
