T251 returned to operation on The Bellarine Railway in April 2022 after a six year overhaul which involved major boiler work, reboring of piston valves and cylinders, overhauls of brakes and all running gear, etc. The T is back hauling The Blues Train and Heritage Services.

T251 Was withdrawn in 1970 and purchased by the Geelong Steam Preservation Society in Victoria. This group moved to Queenscliffe and now operate the Bellarine Railway. T251 operated trains until 1991 then had a 18 year break including a major overhaul. In 2009 it was back hauling passenger trains.

Please note this heritage line is now called The Bellarine Railway (inline with the regional change of name from The Bellarine Pensinsula to The Bellarine). The railway runs some 17 klms from Queenscliff to Drysdale in Victoria, Australia.
