Sadly, 6619 is out of use due to a problem with the driving axle. As an inside cylinder loco this is a built up crank axle, and one of the webs has shifted, which has caused a coupling rod to bend. The offending axle has been sent away for rectification.

One of Swindon's powerful 0-6-2s which saw wide use, especially in South Wales. 6619 has recently had a change made to the exhaust which is interesting. In the interests of increased power, lower back pressure and freer running, it has been fitted with a Kylchap exhaust. This is a first for an ex GWR loco and is reported to have been successful.
