Whilst, of course, any locomotive could end up being displayed along the railway having worked its ticket following refurbishment etc., this would only be considered at the time, probably a decade hence, understanding the necessity of futher work (against the expected cost of repairing/rebuilding others) and necessary locomotive requirements and available staff/volunteers to keep the railway operating when the time arrives. I may be able to give a more definite indication later as a member! Today we here that the mine of the principal coal supplier for the railway in Wales, is to close in November this year so your question may well be superlative.

The ex GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT No. 5775 is the next steam locomotive that will be overhauled back into steam again at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway as it was moved to the workshops at Haworth Shed for detailed assessment before work gets underway.

No. 5775 is back at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway having had a cosmetic repaint to its fictitious GN&SR (Great Northern and Southern Railway) caramel livery it used in the 1971 film The Railway Children. The loco is currently on display at Oxenhope till such time it can be overhauled running order again.

No. 5775 is an expample of an 0-6-0 pannier tank which was introduced for the Great Western Railway for local passenger and freight trains in 1929 by Charles Collett. With minor modifications over 850 of the class were produced, the last being built in 1949. No. 5775 was built in 1929 and withdrawn in 1963. It was then purchased by London Transport who used it on maintenance trains until the 1970s. The pictire shows no 5775 at Keighley on the KWVR in August 1992
