A milestone has been reached in the overhaul on ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Light Pacific No. 34007 "Wadebridge", as the boiler has been placed back onto the frames of the locomotive.

The overhaul on ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Light Pacific No. 34007 "Wadebridge", to mainline standards is nearing completion at Riley & Son Engineering Ltd’s workshops and the locomotive is to be turned out in Malachite Green livery for the first few years of service on heritage railways and then will be later repainted to BR Brunswick Green livery once she commences mainline running.

The ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Light Pacific No. 34007 "Wadebridge", has been relocated to Riley & Son Engineering Ltd’s new larger engineering site at Bury in Lancashire, where its overhaul to mainline standards is continuing on there.

Riley & Son Engineering Ltd. have relocated to a new larger site at irlam works in Bury in Lancashire, where the overhaul of ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Light Pacific No. 34007 "Wadebridge", to mainline standards is continuing on there now.

The overhaul on ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Light Pacific No. 34007 "Wadebridge" to mainline standards took a step up as No. 34007 has left the Mid Hants Railway and has been relocated to Riley & Son Engineering Ltd. at Heywood in Lancashire. At Riley & Son Engineering work carried out will see the repair and re-tube of the boiler, the overhaul of the frames, motion, brakes, springs and cylinders alongside turning the wheels. The most taxing part of the overhaul will see the repair or replacement of the inside middle cylinder. Meanwhile back at Ropley on the Mid Hants Railway, refurbishment of boiler fittings, cab fittings, copper pipe-work and cladding as well as completing the new tender will be carried out.

The overhaul on ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Light Pacific No. 34007 "Wadebridge" to mainline standards is now underway at the Mid Hants Railway’s Ropley workshops. Which this will be the first time since 1965 that No. 34007 will be on the mainline again when completed.

In a surprising change of plan its been announced that Bulleid West Country Light Pacific No. 34007 "Wadebridge" is now to be overhauled to mainline standards which will make 34007 the third Air Smoothed Bulleid Light Pacific to run on the mainline in preservation. The overhaul now underway will see 34007 fitted with airbrakes and a possible turn out in Southern Railway Malachite Green livery with her Southern Railway number No. 21C107.

No. 34007 "Wadebridge" is having a cosmetic restoration being carried out as its planned to move the locomotive for covered accommodation at the One:One Collection (Locomotive Storage Ltd) at the old Hornby Factory at Margate in Kent. Despite at mystery benefactor putting £100K to words her next overhaul which the Mid-Hants Railway is working out when that will be?

Tho 34007 "Wadebridge" is currently out of service and waiting for its 10 year overhaul. The Wadebridge Locomotive Ltd and the Mid Hants Railway have been given the opportunity to send 34007 to a outside contractor to have the boiler overhauled. The Mid Hants Railway are running a Fast Track appeal which details are on the Mid Hants Railway website and on 34007 website as well. 34007 has now been withdrawn from service and is in store.
