The sole surviving South Eastern & Chatham Railway H Class 0-4-4T No. 263 has been withdrawn from service following the end of its current 10 year boiler ticket. Its overhaul should get underway later this year as the locomotive is in need of new tyres, springs and a new tubeplate to be fitted. But thanks to much recent mechanical work carried out it is envisaged that the overhaul should be quite straightforward to do.
