According to what I have seen posted on other websites, this engine operated as late as 2005. I have no way of confirming that myself however.

Lutcher & Moore Lumber Company, Orange, Texas may have brokered the sale of this shay to Cia Maderera de Durango, but they certainly never used this locomotive themselves. Shay sn2773 was photographed 5-1933 dead in transit at Gallup, New Mexico, waybilled for Mexico and still letterd as McGaffey No. 2.
