This locomotive, built well after WW2 was actually a freight parallel design to the DR Class 23.10 passenger build, of which there are far more survivors; this being the only one. It was delivered as No. 50 4073 and, upon computerisation became 50 4073-8, working through to 1978 - a ‘life’ history of less then eighteen years. From 1981-1986 it served as a Stationary boiler with Stärkefabrik Loitz and 1986-1992 with Agricultural Repair Work Demmin in the same role. It was then preserved by the BEM at Nördlingen and, in 1998, received additional attention at RAW Meiningen.
