Dale W Fickés reports: Ty42-149 was delivered by Pierwsza Fabryka Lokomotyw w Polsce, Chrzanów as their No. 1646 in 1946 to PKP Tarnów depot. There is no record of it ever bearing a DRB Class 52 number. After various locations it ended its days at Bydgoszcz Glowny depot from where it was withdrawn and stored in early 2000 before, some 19 years later, being dispatched as a wreck to Muzeum Parowozownia, Jarocin, Parowozownia 1, 63-200 Jarocin, Greater Poland
