2022 marks a 100 year when the first Victorian Railways K Class 2-8-0 entered service in Victoria, Australia and to mark this as part of the open day at Steamrail Victoria base at Newport ex Victorian Railways K Class 2-8-0 K153 has been turned out in the guise of the first class member built K100 which was the class leader of the original 10 K Class locomotives built in 1922.

Victorian Railways K153 entered service in September 1940. It was stored at Ararat 1969 to 1973, then put back into working order at Newport. Late 1974 back in service on steam specials.
