Built in 1940 at Newport Works, one of 53 K class locos built for branch line working. Slowly displaced by the introduction of the T class diesels. 157 was first withdrawn in 1969 and stored. In 1973 it was reinstated to work as a shunter at Ballart North railway works. Finally withdrawn in 1978 needing major repairs. Now at Maldon hopefully awaiting restoration.
