This locomotive was originally ordered from Borsig, Berlin and destined to become their No, 15704, then to be be delivered as DRB (as successor to DRG) No. 52-607. However, due to circumstances beyond their control (probably Allied bombing) Schichnau completed the order and gave it their own build number, hence the apparent ‘oddity’. In 1945 it was sequestrated by the USSR for the SŽD and given the number TE-607, and was last seen at Krasvovka Reserve, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia, in 1993.
