LITTLE GIANT is the first 15 inch gauge loco built by Bassett Lowke, built as a quarter size model of a loco. In 1905 it was tested on the Eaton Hall Railway. Operated by Miniature Railways of Great Britain (later Narrow Gauge Railways Ltd). First at South Shore, Blackpool, then in 1910 at Halifax Zoo. After that at various sites around northern England. Over the years has also been called LITTLE ELEPHANT, BABY BUNCE & ROBIN HOOD. At some time LITTLE GIANT also operated at Breslau Vergnugungspark (funfair), Germany (present day Wroclaw, Poland).

In 1963 the derelict remains were bought by Tom Tate who restored it to working order. He ran it with other locos on his private railway at Haswell Lodge, County Durham. In the early 80s the Tom Tate collection went to John Hendersons private Lightwater Valley Railway.

It is still owned by the Henderson family so I assume they have loaned it to NRM. Also I cannot say how long it will be at Ravenglass. There has been objections to its dismal display at York.
