Like its two sisters at Ruddington, former United States Army Transportation Corps. S160 2-8-0 No. 1631 has been put up for sale by its owners. No. 1631 is largely complete with some overhaul and restoration already carried out but is currently fully dismantled but restorable still.

One of three dismantled S160s at Ruddington. Like many of these locos built following the invasion of occupied Europe in 1944 they passed to the national systems of various European countries. This one was 411-388 of MAV - Hungarian State Railways.

The only part of this loco currently in one piece is the tender, seen here at Ruddington on 7 December 2008. The boiler/frames etc are scatterd around other parts of the site

The "Alco-Schenectady Construction Number List" indicates that Road Numbers 1625 through 1649, Construction Numbers 70278 through 70302 were shipped to the U.S. War Department in November of 1942. If the Road Numbers increased sequentially with the Construction Numbers, Road Number 1631 would have been built under Construction Number 70284. All of these units were built as 2-8-0's and had a "Specified" total weight of 160,000 pounds. (This in not necessarily the "Actual" total weight)
