Delivered to the Northern Railway (Norte) pas their No. 4601, it was the first of 66 locomotives built to a very modern“ design in small batches between 1925-1930, spread between several companies, mostly Spanish. It became No. 241-4001 only upon the creation of RENFE in 1941.
