Contrary to the accompanying site of Senior Javier López, I have this locomotive, built in the Atlas workshops of Sharp Stewart as construction No. 859, as a 2-4-0 tender locomotive that became Barcelona-Martorell Railway, later the Tarragona-Barcelona and France Railway No. 4. The latter company was taken over by the MZA , converted to a 2-4-0T and given the No. 168 for the Barcelona International Exposition of 1929/30. It’s RENFE number still implies a 2-4-0 tender locomotive, though it is preserved, correctly, as MZA No. 168.
