The identity of this locomotive is somewhat confusing as it bears no plates but has its original PKP historical designation number of Ty3-2 that it bore from 1946 - 1952, painted on the smokebox door. It is, however a derivative of a DRB Class 42, this example being produced by F. Schichau, Elbing No. 4448 of 1944 and delivered to the DRB as No. 42 1427. It was first designated No Ty3-2 with the PKP after cessation of hostilities until April 1952, when it was re-numbered to the end of Class Ty43 as No. Ty43-126, i.e. that of a successor to Class 42. In late 1958 it was at Poznan Franowo, reaching Wolsztyn in March 1990 when it then bore its historical identity, No. Ty3-2, and ran in traffic until October 2002 when it was then taken to Gniezno for possible repairs. The repairs did not appear to materialise and, in 2010, it was taken to the parent depot of Wolsztyn, Lesno, where it remains as a wreck at PKP Cargo depot, ul. Zacisze, 64-100 Leszno, Greater Poland.
