Ty3-1162 was originally built for Elektryczne Koleje Dojazdowe (Warsaw Commuter Railways, now WKD) in Standard gauge as their No. 66 then PKP-B Ty2-2850. It was only converted to 750mm gauge in 1953 as No.Ty2-1146 and worked at a couple of lines, i.e. Nasielsk and Biala Podlaska before reaching Sochaczew in 1961 where it became Ty3-1162 for a short period until 1962 when it was again rebuilt (on this occasion to 800mm gauge and renumbered Ty3-284. This only lasted until the following year when it was converted back to 750mm gauge and again renumbered Ty3-1162. In July1971 it was withdrawn from service and put on display at the Open-Air Museum in Tarnowskie Góry and then, in 1973, moved to the Railway Museum in Warsaw. It was not until 1986 when it finally moved to the Narrow Gauge Museum at ul. Towarowa 7, 96-500 Sochaczew, Masovia
