Dale W Fickés reports:

Ol49-1 was first of a class of more than 100 post-war locomotives, of which around 36 are preserved, and delivered to Torun Kluczyki depot at the end of 1951. It spent short periods at Olsztyn and Korsze before returning to Torun in January 1975 whence it moved to Jarocin where it worked for over six years before being withdrawn in April 1991. It was plinthed outside the station,Jarocin Glówny, Dworcowa, 63-200 Greater Poland, the following year and has recently been cosmetically restored. It will probably be eventually destined for the local museum.
