Produced by Lima, Ohio for the United States Army Transportation Corps (USATC) as No. 5801, the locomotive first saw service for the PKP in Rybnik then several other depots around Silesia during the ensuing two decades, until reaching Warszawa Wschodnia in 1969. In 1974 it was withdrawn from service and sold to ZNTK Pruszków and later, in 1977, to ZNTK Wroclaw. It was last fired in 1982 and, a couple of years later was displayed at Trzebinia depot. In 1993 it was taken to the open-air museum in Chabówka but is now at the (soon to be moved and demolished) Stacja Muzeum. ul. Towarowa 1, 00-811 Warszawa, Masovia, Poland
