The original 52-4779, built by OK / MBA 13830 in 1943 was lost in the war and scrapped, so it only lasted a year or two. The loco now existing, started life as SDZ 33-001, the frames are stamped Borsig 16277 of 1944, the boiler is Henschel 28370 of 1944 (the loco is usually identified with the boiler number). The loco was with the DB after the war as 52-4779, a duplicate number (this was given to hide its original identity). Later the loco was sold to JZ 33-248 in 1952, later transferred to Bukinje.

The locomotive was actually ordered as Borsig 16270 but, due to circumstances at the time, was delivered to the DRB lin its O & K guise late in WW2. It maybhave been allocated DRB number 52 4779 but probably never ran in this guise, instead being placed in SBZ Military Administration as their No. 33 001. It later went to Bukinje as No. 33.248.
