Location, Akechi Station. Status, operates on compressed air. The locomotive was trucked out from a nearby elementary school playground in 2013 and rigged by Akechi Railway with a compressor in its coal bunker. The Railway plans to restore c12244 and sister c1274 to full operation in time for the opening o the Tokyo-Nagoya maglev route in 2020.
