I was an apprentice electrician with the CNR at the Spadina Roundhouse 1964/65/66 and at least once had the pleasure of consuming my lunch while sitting in the train divers seat. I remember gazing in wonder as this beauty entered/exited the roundhouse via the turntable.

The "Alco-Montreal Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 69698 through 69722 and 69790 through 69799, Road Numbers 6200 through 6234, were shipped to "Canadian National Rolling Stock" during the June 1942 through February 1943 time period. All of the units were 4-8-4's.

I used to live in Buffalo, NY and I went to the Fort Erie RR Museum about 4 times! 6218 still looks good, but a little paint wouldn't hurt.   If you live near Buffalo, go to this museum, you can even ring 6218's bell!!!
