Rare as they are, de-sectioning a once sectioned locomotive is not unheard of. C51239 at the Kyoto Railway Museum is also a sectioned loco that had been cosmetically restored. Under the cladding, her boiler and cylinders are still missing metal.

A rare case of a locomotive that has been de-sectioned. The two videos show the loco before reconstruction and after they returned it to complete external condition. I don't know of any other report of a sectioned loco being returned to complete condition.

Built in Sheffield, Yorkshire by the Yorkshire Engine Company, this little 2-4-0T represents the early railways of Japan with their British influence. Notice the buffers and screw link coupling - still used in the UK in some freight services. The braking is by the less effective vacuum system which was widely used in the UK until the late 20th Century.
