According to the website Railway Preservation News, this loco has reached its 1472 day limit. It was granted one 60 day extension, but is now out of service. Apparently no decision has been made-or at least publicly announced, according to one post-about a rebuilding or storage. I cannot verify the accuracy of this information at this time.

2719 was moved to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, Minnesota two years ago in December. Also, last summer the 2719 has return to steam & it's home rails & now operates scheduled excursions for The North Shore Scenic Railroad which is next door to the museum. When it's not running during the winter months you can either the shops where it is being worked over or on display inside the museum. For more info on Soo Line #2719 go to www.lsrm.com
