The locomotives deadlines expired in the spring of 1998. The planned refurbishment of the boiler did not take place. Since all vehicle movements in the former Halle P depot were prohibited by the DB Museum. The The DB Museum (Deutsche Bahn Foundation) ended its cooperation with the Traditionsgemeinschaft Bw Halle P e.V. association on April 30, 2022. Originally delivered to KPEV as Magdeburg No. l2001, later Berlin No. 7001 then Cassel No. 7001. From 1925 it was DRG No. 89 1001 but 1931-1941 worked from Mecklenburgische Friedrich-Wilhelm Eisenbahn (MFWE) as their No. 4 after which it reverted back to DRG, on this occasion as No. 89 1004, through to DR in 1949, then working until 1966. It was first preserved at VMD Dresden, then at Bw Halle P with running number 088 096-8.
