Originally built by Maschinenfabrik Karlsruhe for the DRG as No. 86 001, retains that identity with the SBZ through to 1949 and with the succeeding DR, later No. 86 1001 and, when ‘withdrawn’ joined the DB Heritage fleet in Dresden from 1992, later at Chemnitz Hilbersdorf from 1999.
