This the first of class to be built by O&K to be preserved, having been delivered to the original DRB in June 1940. It survived WW2 to enter service with the newly created DB in the then West Germany, working until September 1974 at Bw Crailsheim. It was initially preserved by Schrott Berg of Konstance in its now computerised form of No. 064 491-2 and in 1987 went to the MEP in Paderborn where it was stored in 1988. In 1989 it went to the VEFS in the revised (temporary) identity of No. 64 1491, and then had a new design of boiler, No. 1492/1993 at Raw Meiningen. Upon release it went to EF Ueckertal, Pasewalk, Vorpommern until late 1994. In May 1995 it went to Dampfbahn Rur-Wurm-Inde, (DRWI) still in its latest identity. The locomotive is currently kept at Bw Ebermannstadt, Bayern and it owned by the Dampfbahn Fränkische Schweiz (DFS). Operational.
