Delivered to the DRB by the MBA successor to O&K from their Potsdam-Babelberg/Drewitz plant as No. 52 4900 which, in 1945was taken into SBZ Military administration before going to the DDR in 1949 and the DR in the same identity. In late 1953, for several months, it spent time in Raw Stendal emerging as an experimental oil-burner from here and when, computerised in 1970, it became their No. 52 9900-3, being withdrawn in Autumn 1979. In late 1984, DB from 1992, it was made a Tradionslok, based initially at Bw Dresden Altstadt, then at Bw Halle P.

Ex DR No. 52.9900, a 2-10-0 is displayed at Dresden Altstadt during the Steam Festival there on 30 April 2000. This former Kriegslok, which was rebuilt by East German Railways (DR) in the 1960s, was one of the few examples of the class rebuilt for oil burning as can be seen from the size of the tender.
