Delivered towards the end of WW2 to the then DRB as No. 52 3254, it was first stored at Rbd Frankfurt/Main before joining the SBZ Military Administration, then the emerging DR during 1949, in the same identity. It was recalled to Raw Stendal in summer 1960 to be reconstructed with another boiler from Magdeburg and emerged as No. 52 8170, in 1970 becoming 52 8179-4 and working through to 1988, after which time it went via Raw Meiningen for working as a stationary boiler at Bw B-Schöneweide From January 1992 it was given number 052 170-8 by the succeeding DB and in late 1993 was purchased by B Falz, first joining his line-up at Bw B-Basdorf, then Jüterbog Altes Lager and finally at the former freight Bw in Falkenberg/Elster.
