Locomotive is operational since 2008 and was featured in the German TV show "Babylon Berlin."

Originally delivered to the DRG as Kriegslok No. 52 3574, it was believed stored ? with the occupying SBZ 1945-1949, then taken by DR in the same guise. Re-built 1958-1962, probably at RAW Stendal, with a more powerful boiler it was re-numbered to 52 8168 and ran until late 1961. Purchase by BEM, Nördlingen in 1992.
