The locomotive was delivered to the DRB (successor to DRG) as No. 52 5678 and retained that identity with the SBZ Military Administration 1945 -1949 and with the fledgling DR from that latter date. Between 1958-1962 it was rebuilt with a more powerful boiler, emerging as No. 52 8156, later No. 52 8156-3. Rolling DR merger with the DB it was sold, in 1994, privately for the Staßfurt railway museum but in 1998, was stored in both Weferlingen and Oebisfelde. In 2005 it was purchased by Fred Prinsen GmbH of Kloster Lehnin-Reckhahn and placed on display in Belzig.
