Originally delivered to the DRB (successor to DRG) during WW2 as No. 52 5679, the locomotive spent 1945-1949 under SBZ Military Adminstration before joining DR on this latter date, eventually becoming No. 52 5679-7 just prior to the DR merger with DB. It was withdrawn from service in 1989 and placed on display adjacent to the Bahnhofstrasse (Bf) and main depot (Bw) in Falkenberg/Elster.
