The locomotive was delivered to the DRB (successor to the DRG) during WW2 as No. 52 5761. It was with the SBZ Military Administration 1945-1949 and with the newly created DR from the latter year who, 1958-1962 fitted it with a more powerful boiler and re-numbered it 52 8035, later No. 52 8035-9. It was withdrawn in 1991 and by the time DB had taken over responsibility, the locomotive was stored at Bw Basdorf on behalf of B Falz. It later moved to Altes Lager (Jüterbog) followed by Falkenberg/Elster.
