Further investigation, from another source, identifies the locomotive as another first ordered from Borsig, Berlin with the original build number of 15724. It could not be built/completed in that city and therefore delegated to Schichau (Elbing) to become their number 4105/1944. It was delivered in the closing year of WW2 to the DRB (as successor to DRG) as No. 52 627, later re-boilered 1958-1962 and then given No. 52 8020, later No. 52 8020-1. In 1992 it was purchased privately from the succeeding DB to be preserved at the emerging Tuttlingen Museum.

The DR Class 52.80 was a series (52 8001 - 52 8200) of Rekoloks constructed from the Deutsche Reichsbahn’s fleet of Class 52s in East Germany. They were converted from the old stock in a similar manner to the Class 50.35 around 1960 and fitted with more powerful boilers. The locomotive is numbered 52 8020-1, and NOT a Class 50 as currently shown. Its original number was 52 627. Its build number is reported as being 4028 and NOT 4105?
